This notice describes the products published by Hive Software. HivePanel and HivePanel Worker are self-hosted: the person or organisation running an installation controls its hosting, accounts, configuration and any information processed there. For information about a particular installation, contact its operator.
In brief
- HivePanel: Hive Software does not operate a central hosted HivePanel account service or store the accounts or server content of independently hosted installations. An installation's operator may process information to run its own panel.
- HivePanel Worker: Hive Software does not centrally collect personal data from self-hosted Workers. What a Worker handles on a server is determined by its operator and configuration.
- HivePilot: The app uses the panel URLs and connection names you provide to connect to your chosen panel. Hive Software states that it does not store your panel connection information on a Hive Software backend. Connection details may still be stored on your device and information exchanged with the panel you choose.
Important: “We do not store your panel data” does not mean that no information is processed anywhere. The self-hosted operator, your device, Google Analytics, and purchase providers may each handle information as described below.
HivePanel and HivePanel Worker
HivePanel is self-hosted. Hive Software does not host a central customer-account database or retain customer server files or content on behalf of independent installations. Hive Software does not centrally collect personal data from HivePanel Worker installations.
A self-hosted panel and its Worker may need to handle accounts, permissions, server information or operational information within the operator's own environment to provide their functions. The operator determines where that environment is hosted, how long its information is kept, and how requests relating to that installation are handled. Hive Software cannot specify a single hosting region or retention period for installations it does not operate.
HivePilot
HivePilot is a mobile app for connecting to an existing Pterodactyl panel. You provide a panel URL and may provide a connection name. The app uses these details to connect to the panel you select. Hive Software states that it does not store this connection information on its own backend.
The panel you connect to is operated independently and may process information according to its own privacy policy. Removing a connection from HivePilot does not delete records held by that panel.
Purchases and third-party services
HivePilot's optional Pro purchase uses Google Play, Apple App Store, and RevenueCat. These providers may process information needed for purchases and entitlement verification, such as transaction or purchase identifiers. Their own privacy notices explain their handling of that information:
Google Analytics is used. Google Analytics may process usage information and identifiers depending on how it is configured and where it is deployed. The specific properties, events, cookie or device identifiers, consent controls, retention settings, and geographic processing locations have not yet been confirmed for this notice. Do not interpret the statement that Hive Software does not store panel data as a statement that analytics collects no data. Google's privacy policy provides information about Google's practices.
Hive Software reports no separate crash-reporting service.
Storage and retention
Hive Software states that it does not centrally store HivePanel customer accounts, self-hosted panel content, Worker personal data, or HivePilot panel connection details. Accordingly, it does not specify a retention period for a central store of that information.
This does not establish that information is never stored: a self-hosted operator may retain information in its installation; HivePilot may retain connection details on your device; and Google Analytics, Google Play, Apple and RevenueCat may retain information under their own practices. Hive Software has not supplied verified retention settings for those services, so no specific periods are claimed here.
Your choices and privacy requests
For privacy questions about Hive Software's products or processing, email [email protected]. You can also contact us to ask whether we hold information about you and to make a privacy-rights request. The response will depend on what information, if any, Hive Software actually holds and the applicable law.
For accounts, files, logs or other information in a self-hosted panel, contact the operator of that panel. Removing a panel from HivePilot does not remove information from that installation or from purchase providers.
Depending on the circumstances, applicable privacy law may provide rights concerning access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction and complaints to a regulator. UK users can find information at the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children and families
Hive Software says these products may be used by children. Children and their parents or guardians can contact [email protected] with questions or requests about information handled by Hive Software. Children should ask a trusted adult for help if they do not understand what information a connected panel or purchase provider requests.
The age ranges, whether Google Analytics is enabled for children, and any age-specific consent or parental controls have not been supplied and are not claimed here. Privacy protections and consent requirements for services likely to be accessed by children need to be checked against the actual product and analytics configuration before publication.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the products or their data practices change. The date at the top indicates the latest revision.
